Venice, where I left my heart.

We arrived into Venice around 10:00 at night...bad idea when you don't really know where your hotel is! When we first got there we got on the public transportation (a boat) and enjoyed Venice at night. We figured it would take FOREVER to ride on the boat all the way to San Marco's Square so we decided to jump off at one of the stops and venture out on foot to find this mysterious Ca Bauta Hotel! Well, to make a long story short, we ended up finding our hotel at 12:45, and made a ton of friends along the way...

The Venetians are known for their glass blowing, lace, and their Carnivals where people would dress up in masks and parade around. Carnival means celebration of meat so they'd have these parties right before Lent.

When we were in Venice, the sidewalks were flooded with water all the way up to our mid-shins...

We tried to have a candid shot of some of us walking in the high water...

The girls displaying their new scarves.

It was WET

Very Wet

But the canals were awesome!

This is Nicky...I think Julia's eyes say it all... :)

Inside the glass blowing shop. It takes 10 years as an apprentice to become a master glass blower and THEN you STILL only have a 7% chance of actually becoming a master... they make it look so easy how they move the glass around but seriously, I'm sure I'd burn myself trying...but I wonder if a masters in physiology could carry over to glass blowing?

I found myself a couple times being left behind from the girls...it's like I embarrass them or something...

The Gondolas! It was a little too wet to do them that day. Sad.

We gave ourselves curfews to not be out after dark so we resorted to Sudoko challenges and card games at night. Living it up!!

Mary and Nellie's first gelatto!

We got kind of wet getting them...

Gifts from the glass blowing shop. Thanks Nicky!

No room for me on the post. Yes, another candid shot that made other people stop and stare at us...

It was so windy Julia put her silly umbrella in front to try and fight the wind. Quite a comical view.
